The Winter's Tale was performed in the Methodist Meeting Hall, part of the Town Hall complex, in winter 2001. It was a lavish period production, in which the exotic other-worldliness of the story was accentuated.

Hermione was played by Zoe Tidemann, and her husband, Leontes, by Matt Russell. Ben Passehl played Polixenes and Zo Poppyjon Paulina. Peter Davies, Erica Richards, Dan Monceaux, John Sharpe, Kerry Hailstone, Alicia Smith, Jo Dunstan, Julian Jaensch and others were also part of the big cast.

Delicious costumes and live music helped make this a delicious and visually magnificent production, with some excellent performances and very satisfying ensemble work.
